Toughest question asked in Hollywood today, and has been for years. Both actors have immense talent and fame from every angle. They have gained the undisputed respect from every moviegoer, director, and actor in the world.
However, i would have to give the title to Mr. Deniro. He has been in more Oscar winners. Also, Deniro is not afraid to try doing comedies, drama, action, romance, and even horror films.
Pacino mostly just does action or drama films, and does them well.

It so has to be Al Pacino, but that has to come from the generation you are from many older persons would believe Robert De niro to be the better actor but to me the defining moment has to be the God Father as Al Pacino is astounding in all of this saga!
P.S and besides im bias as i personally think Al Pacino is Sex On Legs!!!

Although Al Pacino was voted the worlds number one actor in a recent programme on channel four, I prefer Robert de Niro, I think Al Pacino is too much the same in every role he plays, where as Robert de Niro has a bit of variety. He plays mostly tough guy roles but he's seen much much milder in other films such as Mad dog and Glory where he is a bit of a wimp. Also King of comedy where he's softly insane.

Robert De Niro is the best cos of his versatility and his willingness to do whatever it takes to play a part authentically..Plus if u have seen the film Raging Bull then it really is a no contest..By the way i also think highly of Pacino ...

i prefer robert de niro. i like al pacino,b ut i just prefer de niro for some reason..
however, there are a lot of roles that pacino has done that i don't think de niro would have had the same effect on..

It's gotta be Pacino, he and De Niro had the bug iold act of in 95 in Michael Mann's Heat, and you know what??? Pacino won!

I really don't consider either of them very good actors, although I did like Pacino's acting in Scent of a Woman...but bottom line is they are only even remotely convincing when they play tough guys. Ask them to act, like say...Hugo Weaving or Johnny Depp or Gene Hackman, and they probably couldn't pull it off.
