Paintings, there is always something new to see in them, you can learn the story behind them, or imagine it, they look different during the day, when the light changes.

Painting's are a special breed. A sculpture can be done with people of talent (I like ice sculpture's); however, painting takes much more artistic talent. I don't know off hand of any DaVinci's/Rembrandt's/Picasso's, painting's that would be named after a sculpture. Ex: "Mona Lisa" sculpture? I don't think I've ever heard of a sculpture named after a particular person?

this is a very hard question because both painting and sculpture is so beautiful and so meaningful but when it came down to it i must say i prefer painting...It does something to me, fills me with a feeling undescribable in any words. Painting has been around for centuries and will forever have a place in my heart.

Sculpture. You get to see art of all the sides. The really good ones look like they will come alive right in front of you.

hmm i am a fan of art. I like paintings cause you can decorate your walls. Sculptures take up space but they are fun to look at.. I like both but paintings are easier to store.

sculpture: I can pretend I'm taking advantage of one. It produces the most amusing photos. I can't use a painting for that.

Tough call. I paint. I know I can sculpt. I'd probably be doing both and something else if I had the wherewithal!

I don't see a need to chose one over the other. I like them both. They are both wonderful art forms and each have their own merits. The same can be said for any form of creativity.
