i have it broken down into levels

Level 1- just getting started, enjoying a new thing, no big deal

level 2 (@250 points) a little serious, maybe have been on here a while and is starting to get into the swing of things.

Level 3 (@1,000 points) a little more serious, answers questions when he can

Level 4(@ 2,500 points) More thna your average asker. spends a little too much time on here, needs to take a little break.

Level 5 (@ 5,000 points) Starting to become scary. Needs to take a vacation for a week or two.

Level 6 (@10,000 points) comparable to the dorks who play Dungeons and Dragons nonstop in their mothers basement. Need to get a life and some sun!

Level 7 ( @25,000 points) The ultimate in gaming dork. Is probably on dialysis as well as blood infusions and recently had cataract surgery. Level 7 is a little ridiculous

I hope to become a Level 7 one day but it is going to take months to do since I come on and I answer a few questions and vote a few times each day. but hats about it.

Some people (like me) don't care about the points, they just like the idea of helping other people answer the questions that are burning in their minds!
Other people need something to feel proud about and building up their points gives them a sense of achievement.
And I guess others just have too much time on their hands and think they're being cool by jumping up the leaders board

Myself personally, am not interested in getting points, I just like to think that I am helping people, and going by the amount of top answers I have had this week, i'm doing a pretty good job.

no flipping clue, i couldn't give a sod about mine, if i could hand them to someone i would, and go back to zero, for me (i think I'm a minority), i like helping? and also getting help...If i could delete the account i would also have done that today, yet here i am again checking to see why i got best answer when my answer was in fact ridiculous, not like we 'earned' it...its PANTS!

There are npo prizes, no rewards, and even if you get to the leaderboard (why??) you share it with a zillion other people on turnover and STILL no one knows who you are???

i think the higher your points, the more you have too much time on your hands...
I've only ran out fo questions once, and that was on level 1.

okay i'm done.
but ... well the answers here have said it all really dont you think??

humans are competitive and think more points=better person???

bleh

I have no idea. I don't know what they are for, or why I feel like I have to get them.... I got into this thing along time after alot of people did so there is no way I will ever be on the leader board. Why am I doing this to myself?

It's fun, and people have the sense of superiority and like to be ahead of people in life, many people like to hide the fact that they are pleased with the smaller things such as points, but deep down, like it.

GOT STARTED BECAUSE I HAD SOMETHING TO SAY. People are to busy to listen to me, and some don't hold my views in high esteem. So I get IT off my chest and get points for my views which is more than I can get otherwise cause nobody will listen.

We get points? OMG!!! That's what those are!! I think we should be able to give our points away to the needy. R U NEEDY? If they're hot n' funny.? I think I will give my points to Israel because the comercials tell me to. Bless them with your points it's the Christian thing to do.
