They shouldn't, but there are certain rules and regulations to be followed by each of us. It's not the question of free speech, but agreeing to all the rules and regulations and then not to follow them is offensive.

first off this is supposed to be a family site. Meaning that severe langauge should be restricted and that certain comment should be withheld as well. Second of all, if the persons opinions incites violence or hatred then yes he should be suspended.

For Example- if made up user triple X comes on and the question is what should happen to the U.S? If he answers that "Muslims should have their nuts ripped off and stuffed into their mouth and then have their heads slowly cut off of their bodies", then he should BUT if he answers " The group of Muslims that are really evil need to pay for their actions." that is much more accecptable.

I personally believe that the bad Muslims will get their payment when they reach the afterlife. It is not up to us to pass judgement nor is it up to us to condemn. We as Americans have taken an even stronger dislike to Muslims since 9/11 and that needs to stop. The roughly 10% of the Muslim population that is doing that is giving the rest of them a bad name. I have met many Muslims and I have never had a problem with any of them. They were all nice and kind and most were ashamed of what their fellow Muslims were doing. The ones that werent ashamed, felt bad for us but felt more or less that it was indifferent.

Free speech doesn't mean being abusive, offensive, and use speech without any responsibility or any concern for others feelings.

This free speech garb has made our society so reckless today, just look at poliferatins child porn and sex sites on the internet, how free do you want to get, or is it recklessness you look for?

Never. Offensive is in the eye of the beholder. Like in that particular South Park episode this last season, as soon as one group gets special treatment, everyone wants special treatment.

Free Speech is too important.

Free speech does not give anyone the right to be profane and otherwise abusive.Take it as an opportunity to state your point and have people hear /understand you if that is your goal, not as a place to vent or skip therapy sessions/support groups. Be the change. Peace.

Some questions ask for opinions. I think no matter what you say it is bound to be offensive to someone, so if being offensive to someone was a criteria for suspension then everybody should be suspended.

Yahoo has its own rules here so if you want to participate if you bend the rules too far you might find your posting deleted. I have noticed that people tend to get uppity if I give my opinion about jews and seem to report me for inciting hate and violence but that is to be expected from jews.

You cannot please everybody, and someone is likely to get their panties tied into knots.

No, unless they are done in an inappropriate manner. Free speech does not mean that we all have to put up with blatant hate and obscene language. People should say as they please but in an intelligent way, as a society we should strive for that.

In the interest of keeping their members happy, may be.
But the math does not work out in their favour.

2 -1 = 1
