Let me see if I can help. I believe that your drain is plugged and it needs to be cleaned. Most drains are done in PVC plastic 3/4 inch pipes. As this plastic pipe leaves your cased coil above your furnace, find a spot where it exits about three to four inches long and cut the pipe mid point with a hack saw (metal cutting blade) as close as possible to the cased coil. Now you can take a look and see if anything is there or use a probe (straight piece of wire with a little hook on the end) and softly insert it into the drain and see if you can pull anything out. Let me remind you to do it softly, you don't want to poke a hole in your copper tubing. It also could be sediments that collected over the years and you'll break threw it and it will start draining. At this point check the trap to see if that is plugged, If that took care of the problem then clean off the burrs on both sides where you cut the pipes and clean it. Go to the hardware store and pick up a 3/4 sch 40 coupling and a small can of PVC glue Use gloves and wipe the glue on one side with the brush that is in the can attached to the cap around the cut off side and take the coupling and push it in all the way and twist it a quarter of a turn. Do the same thing with the other side. Wait a 1 min. and your all set to go.

The water may just be evaporating before it hits the ground. If you turn the thermostat up a little, it won't have to work so hard and you'll save on your electric bill.
