Imitating somebody and copying their ideas is not necessarily the same thing. Beyond that, we hold ideas as valuable. It's like owning something nobody else has. Ideas are powerful and can sometimes earn financial value, as well. You lose all that if somebody takes the idea away from you.

Because they are taking credit for work they stole. Imitation is NOT the greatest form of flattery.

Imitation is okay as long as you credit the person you are imitating with having the idea first.

Imitating oneself is one thing but to copy ones work is to steal ones hard earned thoughts and ideas.

I think imitation in that sence is your actions as a person, your character, not when someone wares same clothing or buys the same car......or is it? Hum....good question!

people are get posesive. they hate it when people get appaulded for their work, when they had the idea.
people like to be noticed. and when someone else is noticed and for their work, they go off.
and most of the time it is stolen from someone who does not say " that was their idea" or the person does this all the time and says " you stole that" so i dont find it agrivateing.

because they were our ideas and we think that other people cant like them. and what we dont see is that that is good for somone to like your idea!
