I thought it was Taiwan 101, in Taipei, Taiwan. This was the tallest tower last year; if there is a taller one, it was opened later than february 2005. It also has the fastest and tallest elevator in the world.

The Canada National (CN) Tower is the tallest free-tanding structure in the world. Not even Taiwan's newest pride comes close to its height.
