I'm currently writing a fantasy novel, and I'm at a loss to what to name my main characters. They are all girls, four of them, and their names must start with N, S, E, and W. I need something unusual, but not to where its difficult for my readers to pronounce their names. Any suggestions?

Hmm...fun question!
My favorite part of writing stories is getting to name my characters; I'd hate to take that joy from you. But I have some ideas.
Nivea (I know it's a lotion brand but it's a word that means snow or snow-white, which would be good for north)
Sonora (name of a desert, and areas of Mexico, other warm climates - might be nice reference to South)

Wava (just a cool, simple name)
Enya (might be too strong a reference to the singer, but still a cool name). I like Eden too, and there is a tie to "east" for that name also.

Have fun!

I think you want to make their intials in the north, south, west, east, way so that they are connected. but if i tell you some names it wont feel very original would it. Why don't you try to match their personalities with their names, you know find names that reflect their personalities and since you are writing fantasy dig a little deeper into mythiolgy and find mythiological names of people that reflect your characters personalities.

You did not say what the theme of the story is. Tht would lead you in the direction ofthe names you want. N-Nice S-Sincere E-Earnest W-Wise or Naughty, Sexy, Eagar, Wicked or Northa Lee, Southern Belle, Easter Lee, West Tina. It is ot clear enought to give you anything better, but those may spark you to come up with the true names your story is calling for.

But here are names I like. Hehe.

E- Eara (means from the East) or Ebony?

Let us know which names you pick! I'm curious.
