I am currently 90 miles from Havana, and from here, he looks alive but real sick. Raoul, the head pinko in charge currently, makes Fidel look like a saint. Things are not looking good!

He claims to have "temporarily" handed his power to his brother Raul. He is about to go through an intestinal surgery but, from his statements, it seems like he has not completely resigned. The man is planning to come back after he recovers from surgery

I doubt he is dead, his power structure is in place and they will have a large national funeral most likely visited by heads of state from all around the world.

I think he has a few days to live and thats all, he would not suceed power for a minute if he was not dying in the immediate future.
