sounds like you would be segregating then. there should only be one and they can run against each other.

Nope. To do so is racism in its basic form. The only way this is fair is if the school honors a homecoming court from each race represented in the school. Once they do that, the entire point of having a King and a Queen gets lost in political correctness.

Some questions the school administration needs to consider and answer:

-Does the school restrict voting for each race to members within the same race?

-Does the school hold separate elections allowing the entire student body to vote for the representatives of each race?

Neither question has a legally or morally correct answer as each answer encourages racist behavior in one way or another.

Good Luck!

That's not right. Only one queen!!! What's next, you'll have a white queen, a black queen, a latino queen, and an arab queen. Race has nothing to do with homecoming.

Only if the school is segregated. In which case, the homecoming queen would be the least of your issues.

No! That is just segregating. Homecoming Queen has nothing to do with race.

That's wrong. The homecoming queen is the most popular among everyone, not just one race.

That's why you vote..

i can see that some schools would come to that solution.
i think there's like a black miss america
and miss black massachusetts etc.
i'm not saying it's really best, but the school can probably do what they want. deciding who's black and white might get harder, though.
oh, i forgot maybe they are doing it because there were riots or controversy or fights or something before when one or the other tended to win or something.

I see no problem with it. We are not yet a color blind society and in most cases the whites would vote for the white and the blacks would vote for the blacks. Both should have an equal chance. I'm sure they are all beautiful and should have equal opportunity.

1 homecoming queen is enough white or black.

That would seem a bit weird. Why don't they just have one or the other? Unless you're high school leans more toward separation or segregation than equality.

Wow! And here I thought Jim Crow died forty years ago. I think that's very wrong, all it does is perpetuate the idea of race instead of just being one unified people, they might as well give them different drinking fountains while they are at it.
