I'm 27 weeks pregnant and have been having stomach cramps all day long. I know what Braxton Hicks feel like and this feels a little different - they're on the sides of my stomach as well as lower tummy. It hurts to breathe and happens at rest and when I'm moving. I've also been feeling pressure in my rectum and my tailbone is hurting, not sure if this is related or not. Does anyone have any ideas?

i had that too when i was pregnant with my son! it was sooo bad i thought i was going into labor....i would get it in the middle of the night and wake up and hurt so bad i couldnt move and i couldnt breathe...all i could do was lay there....i had a really crappy doc at the time that said it was just the baby kicking me haha....but i switched docs and learned that all it was was the ligaments and muscles and everything down there stretching out....he said sometimes the baby will turn or move a certain way and make the area have to expand really quickly instead of gradually.....but by the time i got this info i had not had anymore problems with it....but for me it definately wasnt early labor....hope this helps!

I had my daughter at 27 weeks. Go to the E R, it could be premature labor. if it is be prepared for the Magnesium Sulfate they might give you to stop the labor. All I can tell you is that it is the worst feeling in the world. Good Luck!

i would suggest going to a doctor because better safe than sorry, but i remember being uncomfortable from around that time when i was pregnant with my son and my tail bone was really sore for the rest of my pregnancy. Try sitting on a pillow, it helped me a little!!!

Ask your midwife but it sounds to me like it could be your rib cage expanding - very uncomfortable but necessary.

I know what you mean about your tailbone hurting - I think that's more likely to be baby's position.

Best to get medical advice though.

You need to be seeing a doctor about this...go to the hospital that would be the best thing to do for your health as well as your baby's.

i think that you should go to the doctor and make sure the cramps are not making you go into labor.... its better to be safe than sorry.

you must call your midwife. it could be something that you will just have to put up with- general aches and pains.but you would never forgive yourself it you didnt get it checked and your baby suffered for it. please get checked
