I know. They are always using "facts" and "science" to prove things like global warming, and to make proponents of intelligent design look dumb. How dare they!?

Because they aren't raised with common sense and a family background.
They are usually spoiled and think the whole world revolves around them.
Edit: Way down there..no, i'm no 'academian', but I can tell you I don't need to be one to hold political views or share values with a party, or to impress you.
I value common sense and logic over intellect in the end result of things.

most of them are potty trained communists out of the 60's and 70's They have never had to work in the real world. they teach
the the superior way to go is a career in Govt. or education and manufacturing is a third rate career path. This is because they wont have to take responsibility for their failed lives and they can criticize real Americans who have learned through trial and error how to embrace and manage risk. They hate people who start businesses and inventors and venture capitalist. They get their precious tenure and free education for their kids and take long paid sabbaticals
They are parasites who try to have sex with their students
disagree with them openly and kiss your grades good bye - they will preach tolerence and that diversity but rock their boat while trying to gain your doctorate and you have just committed suicide. Most of this pertains to the soft science and politcal ends of higher education but it has permeated all of acedamia as well

I love macadamias, but academians are too stuck on themselves. They may have book smarts, but not any real common sense...they don't have a clue about the real world.

conservatives nowadays hate academia because we research things - when that happens, people find things out.
Dems are the same way, they just don't blame liberal teachers...they say it is based on skewed facts.
