Of course, but Hollywood isn't. And unfortunately that is where most people outside the US get their impression of the USA.

The US is much more religious and conservative than Europe, and has more Churches per capita than any other western country. I've lived in the US and also in Western Europe and there is a large differance between the two. Big Macs and Brittany Speers may be big in the US, but Porn (and prostitusion and ather sex stuff) is much more prevalent in Europe.

Yes. In fact the porn industry is mainly outside of the USA. A lot of it comes out of Russia and South East Asia.

Big Macs and Speers are only two very insignificant aspects of the USA.

Come for a visit and learn more about the USA. It is clear that you don't know much if that question seems reasonable to you.

Well since your country considers it porn when a womans hair is exposed I guess you would think that. I don't watch porn I don't eat Big Macs and I don't care for Brittney Spears. I do however live in America. So yes it is about much more. I don't have to worry whether or not the esteemed leader of my country will randomly gas some of it's population just because they have different beliefs. Tell me can your country say this??

Well, I do like the occasional Big Mac, but the other two don't enter my life in any form. Let's replace Porn with Branding Cattle and Britney Spears with Fighting Fires. That would do for me, I think. That's the fun of America, there are so many options and so many diverse ways of life - we can't all be lumped into one or two categories, no matter how hard people try to do so.

Yes, there is much more to our culture than that, but overseas, I think that most of the negative things like the ones you mentioned get more attention. In the US, most people are ignorant of the strong history of scholarship in Islamic culture, as well as the close ties between Christians and Muslims in many parts of history.

Some of the parts of America that you may not hear as much about include or reverence for freedoms, such as freedom of speech and expression (which also means Brittany Spears, sorry to say), personal expression and individuality, and equality. Not everyone here values these things to the same extent, but they are big part of our culture. Bigger than the Big Mac even.

Our culture has been destroyed. Sadly, I think you're right. I don't like Big Macs, Porn or Brittany Spears. It is old and boring already. No one can come up with anything inspiring.

I'm beginning to wonder that myself...My son and i call him the Evil Clown (McDonald). We're not all devoted to stupid pop culture queens or porn. It is difficult to raise a child in this environment, but America is a good place when you don't live in a large town...the real America, for me, is the woods or the plains far from cities...mistakenly or not, it is my vision in my heart...not the ugly things...We are also not of one voice...personally i do not agree with my government in many ways, but it is our political system to use the ballot rather than the gun, so it would be out of place to shoot the fellow next door. The current leaders of our country do not represent my morality or ethical behavior...it saddens me that religious people here (at least calling themselves religious) are advocating violence to some degree. I would have to say, however that you're vision of America as a Sodom or Gomorrah is to a certain degree correct...I don't like it, but I also believe that it is difficult to control some "freedoms" without taking away all other freeedoms. such as the right to dissent or practice your religion in peace.

More. It's also about making tons of cash, freedom of speech and religion. And someting most Muslim leaders in the middle east don't accept. Free will to refuse Porn, Big Macs and Britney Spears.

Of course we're more than that!!! We are a country that's all about freedom. We dont have anyone telling us what to wear, which religion to be, what music to listen to. We can even disagree with our government and its leaders. At McDonald's I prefer Chicken Nuggets, Britney Spears is a joke and Porn belongs in the bedroom between 2 consenting adults....that's just my opinion, and since we are Americans...anyone can disagree with me! We live in a great town where families and our children come first..going to church together on Sundays, watching our kids sporting events, eating dinner together...
