When it comes time for me, I believe in naming within your cultural heritage. So, if you are an English mutt, then pick names which are typically "English", "Irish", "Scottish", or "Welsh". This works for whether you are Greek, Russian, Japanese, Hispanic, German, Italian, whatever. Some names are just words though, or virtues. Decide on the meaning of the name as well as the sound. I do think that those things are significant when naming a child. And about the cultural heritage thing, I think it's weird when people are OBVIOUSLY named something outside of their heritage, like a Jewish child named Christopher really jumps out at you... if there even is a case of such a thing. I even think naming a black child Ryan is odd. Similarly, naming a Scottish child Spyros is odd. You get my point.

First of all congratulations! I know picking out names is difficult for us finding a boy's name was tough, we had a girl so we had a name and when she was born, we had to go back to the drawing board ourselves. Here's my contribution to the name pool. God bless and good luck finding a name!
