Ok, I'm going to take my driving test for the 2nd time. The first time I took it I was totally freaked out. I had gotten the cop that had a bad reputation and as soon as the receptionist came in she told us that him and his girlfriend just broke up so don't feel bad if we failed. Then everybody that went before me, guess what, failed! So I was sooooo nervous and freaked. I'm afraid that I'll be really nervous when I take it again and that it'll keep me from passing AGAIN.....so do you have any tricks on calming down? Thanks for your help.

i failed my first time too - also with the "bad reputation" guy :) i cried for 10 minutes, went home, and ate some ice cream.

the second time around, i made sure i got plenty of sleep, and spent the whole week practicing the things I messed up on. I also drove that course so many times before the next test that I could drive it in my sleep! I was still nervous, but I knew the course, so it was easier. When practicing, try to imagine the guy who failed you is riding with you, so when he actually is riding with you, it won't seem like such a big deal.

don't worry - you'll do fine - after i took my test the second time the guy couldn't even believe he failed me the first time!! practice and practice, and you'll feel comfortable and not nearly as worried.

My DOT guy set his cup of coffee on the dashboard, and advised me that as long as the coffee didn't spill, I'd pass.

I can't remember how the test played out, because I was so drunk at the time, but I did end up with a license in my wallet that morning?

Your driving exam is about you and your skills, NOT the examiner. Either you are ready for your test or you are not. If you are, then concentrate on what YOU have to do. If you are nervous then you are not ready. Nervousness can keep you from performing to your ability. So take control of your test, be ready to take whatever comes, and be positive. If you know how to drive then PROVE it. POSITIVE ATTITUDE!!!

I failed 2 times. Don't worry. You will eventually pass. Take it slow, don't get distracted and most of all play cool.

Concentrate on everything around you and yeah, play it cool. If you're cool, they're cool. If you know how to drive, you'll pass, so try not to think too much -- just go with the flow.
