First off, i cant understand why this trade is even on the table. I mean both guys are good backs who will have breakout years. Your running game is solid provided you have a decent backup for Alexander. HMM. I say if it aint broke dont try to fix it. Just imagine how crappy you will feel if when the season starts LJ goes down with injury or his numbers drop off and he has to share his work with P.Holmes? Then you will be kicking youself. Just be happy with what you have.

No. Since you are looking at probably trading the 1st pick for the 2nd pick, here is the scenario.
SA lost his stud LG in Steve Hutchinson this offseason, but overall, his team is still very good and should continue to be running the ball late in games. While it was a contract year last year for SA, his #'s have steadily increased every year for the last 3 years.
LJ just lost one of the best OT EVER in Willie Roaf, which will cause the Chiefs to keep their TE's (notably Tony Gonzalez) on the line more often to compensate for the loss of Roaf. Last year, LJ had a HUGE chip on his shoulder after HC Dick Vermiel told LJ to take off his diaper. Also, once The Priest went down with his annual injury, LJ wanted to make sure he kept the #1 job. Yes, LJ's numbers projected last year over a full season would have been like 2400 yds and nearly 30 TD's. However, LJ is entering his 1st full season as a starter and the offense around him, especially his O-line, has regressed tremendously.
While I don't think LJ will be a flop, I actually prefer SA and LT over LJ just because I prefer a "safer" pick in the top 2 spots.

Well here's the deal. Alexander and Johnson both lost important pieces of their offensive lines: Steve Hutchinson left Seattle for Minnesota, and Willie Roaf is most likely retiring. This is key. Alexander IS starting to get up there in age, and in a keeper league, having LJ could be big for years. Both are going to be productive, there's no doubt about that, but in the long haul, LJ will be more productive.

That's a trade that nullifies itself. Alexander and Johnson are both looking at monster years (provided Shaun can avoid the Madden curse) but if I had to give a nod, it would slightly be to LJ solely because of the run-oriented offense in KC.
I'm leaving this trade in your hands. Listen to your heart and not your head

what an unusual trade!
to me LJ is #1, Alexander is #2 - but I assume someone is making you this offer and not the other way around. Why not see if he'll sweeten the deal?
I think I'd do it. LJ has less miles on him, and right now he's the best in my opinion - even without Roaf.
