Here's the problem:
Nobody wants to take responsibility for the things they do. Therefore, it's easy to make a scapegoat out of Myspace and things like it as the reasons for things like these happening. It's BS, and the ultimate way to not have a site like Myspace be dangerous to you is not to be a moron and give out personal info and meet people. Simple as that.

Myspace is the devil.
I'm kidding. Although I personally dislike myspace, there is nothing inherently dangerous in using it.
Keep in mind posting and providing personal information on the internet is similar to older stories of chat room evils.
Personal information is personal for a reason. I wouldn't want any crazy showing up at my house or stalking me or whatever.
Anything can be safe or dangerous, just gotta use your head.

No. It's only bad for careless people that are dumb enough to put their personal information on it. I only add people as friends if I know them, and I can confirm it. You can set your profile to private, so that only people you added as friends can see it. MySpace has a ton of security, people are just not using it. Note that ANY site like MySpace is ALWAYS a target for predetors. But if you're careful and know who you add as friends, nothing can happen to you. I hope you're parents will allow you to get one, because it's a lot of fun to have one!

in case you have been precise on your critiques you would be justified and it is not substantial what others concept. the subject is which you at the instant are not precise, yet have been fed an mind-blowing form of lies and incorrect information which you base your prejudiced critiques on. that's the place you get into complication. working example, you're saying "enable me supply an occasion: Mormonism. we are continuously ballyhooed approximately how bigotry against Mormonism is the 'well known prejudice' and made to sense like Nazis for having a sturdy dislike in the direction of a church with deeply racist roots that subjugates women. Many little ones from Mormon communities are not even allowed to study literature outdoors of the church's propaganda." the actuality is that Mormons at the instant are not racists and that they have on no account been racists. you do no longer comprehend the doctrines of the Church. Mormons actually do no longer subjugate women. The declare that we do is merely an evil lie. merely ask my spouse. that's definitely fake that many little ones interior the Mormon community are not allowed to study literature outdoors of the church's propaganda. you have been lied to, and now you're regurgitating the lies. it is your difficulty. possibly in case you found out to have a touch humility, which you at the instant are not continuously precise or truly comprehend what human beings have self assurance you does not come for the duration of as so illiberal and bigoted.

myspace and other sites can be harmful if you give out too much info, which is easy. Your parents are good people for not letting you on. there are people tring to reduce the let-out info by telling about it on tv by letting people know about the harm.

I think it can be. I've just started a blog and I find it easy to talk about myself online because I feel that I'm online and no one knows who I am. However, I have to watch myself because you never know who is reading what you're writing about yourself. A little info on one post, a little more info on another and whoever out there who is interested in doing so maybe be able to track you down in the real world. It's scary but true.
I think Myspace.com brings out similar feelings in people. They feel its harmless to talk about themselves, etc but don't know what they may unwittingly be telling others. I think we have to always be alert when we're online and this is not always easy to do.
