I bought a DVD of "The Polar Express" from a woman on Ebay who claimed it was a legit copy (Region 1) and would work on any DVD player. It turned out to be a fake and it wouldn't play (even on my PC). I got a good price but it turned out to be too good.

I almost sold something illegal without knowing. I bought a limited edition Whiskey, knowing that it would sell well in the US. Someone wanted to know postage costs. When I took it to the post office, they were horrified, you cannot sell alcohol without a license, and certainly cannot post it.
Had to drink it all my self, so it wasn't a full loss.
