Why don't YOU ask the daycare lady to IGNORE him when he asks for a diaper?

Uhhh..Is the daycare person incapable of handling your child? If your child is toilet trained, and you do not want him back in diapers. All you have to do is tell the daycare provider this. A legitimate childcare provider should know not to take instructions from a toddler...As far as the child goes, just keep reinforcing a positive attitude toward the potty, and reward successful potty attempts. Wanting a diaper could be the child's way of protesting daycare. Be patient...Eventually they catch on..

Just Explain to him that you he no longer wears diapers cause he is a big boy. It sounds like that he is seeing the daycare attendant putting diapers on kids that aren't potty trained yet...and that he wants to regress back to diaper wearing days. This is normal for all children. Like for me..My sons' 5 year old friend insists on having a sippy cup when she is here just cause my son uses one.

But you should also tell the day care attendant to just smile at him and tell him the same thing he no longer is a baby and is now a big boy.

Tell the daycare lady to say no and explain that he is not to be put in diapers any longer, he is potty trained and you will no longer provide diapers for him.

Sounds to me like your child is feeling left out.

What is the ratio of children in diapers to children his age not in diapers? If there are a lot more in them then the ones his age that are out of them he may feel left out because the babies are getting all the attention.

I know cost and convenience play into what child care facility you use but you might have to consider taking your child somewhere else where there are more children his age to play with so he isn't feeling all alone and wanting for the attention that putting a diaper on him gives.

Maybe try telling him that he is a big boy now, and big boys don't wear diapers. Tell him the kinds of things that big boys get (certain toys, or other privilages) and if you hear that he hasn't asked her to put a diaper on him for over a week get him a little something. Things like that works for my sister... her little girl was promised she'd get to wear princess underwear as soon as she stopped using the diaper and boy was she happy to get them when she started using the potty!

tell the daycare lady to not do that anymore -- they have to follow rules set by parents about potty training and diapers. then when your kid asks, she will tell him no. simple.

Maybe he doesnt get enought attention at the daycare. Maybe the babies get more attention and this is his way of asking for attention. Talk to him to find out why he wants the diapers on.

Give him 5 dollars, a bus ticket and a bottle of scotch and send him on his way as he is now a man.
