Vibrio fischeri is the name of a bacterium that expresses this protein; maybe it is the source for getting the specific protein (HrpB helicases are found in other organisms as well). I don't know the eact context you are refering to.

Helicase is a protein that uses the energy produced by ATP hydrolysis in order to unwind nucleic acid duplexes (DNA or RNA) in a certain direction. They take part in various processes like DNA replication, repair, etc. You can check a site describing DNA replication so that you understand better how helicases work.

HrpB is the name of the specific helicase (there are different types of helicases in a cell).
