Would you consider Oasis a boy-band?

Sorry, but I always get confused about what would be considered a boy-band. (I know that's what the backsteet boys are) I wasn't sure, and I liked their music, but I didn't want to go saying that at school if they were a boy-band.

Certainly not. I've been a fan for years and years.. boy bands usually fall under the 'pop' genre and they tend to have lyrics that talk about lost loves and desperation for getting a girl back - Oasis is rock music.. and rocks as well, in addition.
