When was the last time you had it in for a complete service check? Sounds like you have a distributor or wiring problem. since you have a Honda, be sure you get Genuine Honda Parts, NO AFTERMARKET ingition parts on Honda/Acura. Doing so can lead to a destroyed distributor and a $800 repair bill. The fact that you see the problem with the AC on is only a symptom that your engine is not running up to spec. The AC adds a 10-15% load. Normally your engine should not have a problem with that. Put 4 large individuals in the car with the AC off and you will find that it has the same problems. Get your car into an authorized Honda service center.

Have you checked the thermostat? If it's getting really hot, then it may be that. If it's an auto, you may want to try getting the transmission serviced. Are you adding anti freeze ( which is also anti boil), to the right specifications? Is the thermo fan cutting in, when it's supposed to? Is the water pump operationg correctly? Is there a leak in the radiator? Lot's of things can cause a car to stall, during a hot day. If it's stalling, when you pull up, at a set of lights, then you probably need to get the torque converter ( in the tranny, if it's an auto) checked. Once again, if it's an auto, there's a micro switch, that up's the engine revs, when you stop, to compensate for the torque converter. If that is stuffed, the car will stall. Sorry that i've asked more questions, than given answers, but that's the best I can do.

If its stalling it could be a gas to air mixture issue. Meaning I might look into the sensors involved in the fuel mixture like the O2 sensor or Mass Air Flow Sensor etc, etc. You might look into having a certified tech look into this one. Then again it could just simply need a tune up if it has close to or over 90,000 miles on it it could need the plugs, wires, but I don't remember but I think that vehicle has the coils on the plugs right on them, so I would still have it looked at with the proper equipment.

is the Air Conditioning on when its sluggish ?
My CRV slows considerably when the AC is on .. but usually only then.
If anything take it to a Honda Dealer and have them check it out .. shouldnt cost too much

How many miles are on it? What about plugs? They may need to be replaced.
