Not bad.......believe it or not the thought of it and the smell were the worst two parts. Cauterizing stinks, no way around it.

Just be careful about picking up anything for a while afterward.

I just saw the answer above by the RN, not sure about her the incision being above....mine was below (that is where all the relevant "parts" are located after all). But right on about the very small incision

Being a woman, I dont know persoanlly of course but worked in a urology office where they were done all the time. The numbing injection is probably the "worst" part. You are given a Valium to take an hour before your visit for calming reasons. The actual procedure is about 15 minutes and you are in and out of the office within an hour. You are given a pain medication and someone else drives you home. You'll be fine ! Good luck!

Well good luck for your vasectomy.
It is a very tough decision to make cause sometime some men have vasectomy and they regret it cause later on they would of like to have kids and it was to late so i hope you are making the right choice.:)

Not bad at all. It's an outpatient procedure. As far as pain goes you will have some discomfort ( discomfort is a lot different than pain) and you'll need an ice pack. If you have any questions you should go to webmd.com

it's nothing. the doctor will make a small incision in your pubic area above the penis and go in through the small incision (by small, i mean SMALL). the doctor will then tie off your vas deferens, the tubes that carry sperm to your urethra to be ejaculated. most men experience just a mild discomfort at the site of the incision, but no pain in their penis. just make sure to keep the incision area clean so you dont get any infection. :)
