Hitler's birth - but then again, I've read Stephen Fry's Making History which is about an experiment that averts Hitler's birth and he is being replaced by a man who's even worse. Truth be told: something I cannot imagine!

for me an easy one this... the destruction of the great library of Alexandria.. roman epoch. repository of all world knowledge up to that time.with that began the dark ages. if it hadn't gone up in flames we would probably already have explored the nearest stars! pisses me off somewhat! watch out where you drop that match...you never know!
