Because it's easier and more convenient to ignore God than to do the right thing.

I'm not refusing anything I believe in something else. It's my choice, it's my right to believe what I think is right. Everyone has different thoughts about what is right, even people who believe in god have different thoughts about what believing is for them.

Some people dedicate there whole life to there idea of god, other spend one day, some none, all of these are a choice that we are given.

Because people don't need god any more. Religion exists for three reasons - to provide a society with morals, a creation and an afterlife. We know how the world was created, we get our morals from celebrities and the media. One reason out of three is not good enough to put your faith in something which is looking increasingly fantastical.

Also many people believe that religion is the root of all evil. Not god - but organised religion; just about every war and genocide has got religion involved in there somewhere.

I don't think you can "refuse" to believe or not believe in something. Either you do or do not. It's not really a choice you get to make, is it? Some people simply don't see anything that would suggest to them that there is a god or gods. Some people are more inclined to believe in invisible spirits and mythology.

Believing in God is a choice. You choose to discover for yourself whether you believe God exists or not. You choose how you go about looking for the evidence that will either prove or disprove your belief. And whether you choose to look deeply into the subject or not, you've still made a choice in how deeply you look. Refusing to believe is just a matter of how deeply you believe your discoveries.

Believing in God takes faith. some just haven't found the evidence or the will to put faith in something they can't see or touch. Sometimes people find faith in God only after a long journey of questioning all that there is around them. I think that's very healthy, and a more solidly rooted faith in many cases than those who accept the religion in which they were raised without question. Still others never find faith in God, but perhaps they have faith in something else, like their personal relationships, themselves, the power of humanity, etc. There's nothing wrong with it. Either way, as long as they're not hurting you, wish them happiness in their own paths while you pursue yours as you see fit.

I think people refuse to believe in God because there is no scientific proof of there being a God. So people choose not to belive in one.

I don't think anyone ever refuses to believe anything. You either think it makes sense, or you don't. Many people think the evidence for the existence of a divine being is right up there with the evidence for Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny. Others think it does make sense, or they feel a powerful need in their life to believe a higher power.

Not everyonce can walk by faith alone. Some of us need more evidence than to simply be told that God exists. We do not refuse to believe in God...we are looking for good reason to believe in God.
