I think taco means taco. Its a spanish word isn't it? Some words just don't translate, they are what they are. Like burrito is the same in English and Spanish. Same as taco.

it means it's own word -- it never went through translation. taco means the same thing in english as it does in spanish and it's indicative of a tortilla with meat/beans.

Taco could mean the food.... meat or chillie wrapped into a tortilla... or could be a piece of wood or other material used to hold a door or something else.

taco is just meat wrapped around a tortilla... the tortilla is what makes it a traditional "taco" and you can put any food that you like in it .. probably beans and rice too
