ok it might of been 70's but im sure it was 60's i was born in 1972 and missed them first time round and ive tried but cant forget the 80's or worse the nightmare 90's i've tried but i can't and stuff this century is even worse

Following on from Norman Bates' answer - I believe the phrase was coined by Keith Richards.....if it wasn't it should have been!

Talking of which where did saying "coined" originate??

redrobin why do you think people wouldn't want to admit they were around in the 60s i admit i went right through war years and i no misgiving about that, i can remember the dismal 30s when most workers had to scrabble for a crust, thats why most folk dont realise this is not a bad age to live in, nearly everyone have the things they want, and enough food in their guts. oh and sorry i cant answer your question, never heard it repeated

I don't know who said that phrase but it probably refers to if you lived in the 60's and can remember it you probably weren't STONED!
