It doesn't make any sense...

Oh yes it does; it's much more relaxing. I like to lie down on the couch sometimes and think about absolutely nothing. If I'm standing, I have to think about not falling down. So there, I would still have to think about something if I were standing.

For me it makes more sense to have a sleep in order to rest your mind but i guess this one means that if you calm down things and have a rest just sitting and doing nothing your mind will clear a little bit and you will feel relaxed.

The easiest answer to that is that if someone is upset and they insist on pacing the room it can increase the agitation; however, if they remove themselves from the situation and say - go for a walk, it can help. Some people are under the mistaken notion that if they could just fall asleep they could clear their mind. I for one have never found that effective because I tend to have very vivid dreams in which I just take my problems with me. One of my favorite things to do when I'm upset is to go to a park, lie back on the grass and find images of things in the clouds. Truth of the matter is that its probably got more to do with the environment of the park being a neutral place where people typically go to have a relaxed time that is being the most therapeutic but big fluffy clouds really can yield some interesting images.

many people believe that if a person sits down the blood flow will slow down and your mind will slow down the thought process therefor your mind will clear up and then your mind is rested....truth is it never goes away only gets worse with age and responsibility

Maybe someone should say lay your head down on this pillow. That could rest your mind, don't you think??
