I don't have a problem with either one, in fact I listen to some "emo" music. I do think the whole goth way of making yourself look so pale you look like a corpse is a bit overboard, but I guess thats their choice to make.

Goth's think they are the only people in the world with a broken home and a pathetic life. They only seem to think their way is the best and refuse help from anyone. As for emo people, there is nothin wrong with them, they are just normal people.

Because goths and emos want them too.
It is a statement of non-conformity just like Mods and Teds in the 60's, punk in the 70-80's, Goth in the 80's, skins, rockers etc.
If the general population didn't have a problem, then whats the point of getting all hair and make-up ready?
It's a game of notice me-don't notice me. (Passive-Aggressive)

People who become a emo or goth are not comfortable with themselves. If you know who you are you don't need to dress a certain way because what matters is who you are inside, and who you are spiritually. Being goth is a negative thing because it is black (death)! God is pure life!! Emo is abnormal and a person who does this sets themselves apart from humanity, because they dress a way that clearly shows who they are.....weird.

When I went to highschool there weren't any emos, but there were goths. I didn't like them because they were posers, going around claiming to worship satan, yet I'd always see them in the mall paying $70 for a black shirt from Hot Topic, while sucking down slurpees.

I don't have a problem with them as people, but I have a problem with the trend itself. "Goth" and "emo" are supposedly all about being different from the norm, but to be either you have to dress a certain way, act a certain way, listen to certain bands, and hang out with certain people. It just seems very hypocritical to me to claim to be an individual while you go out of your way to be like everyone else.
