I was going to say an iPod or Heely shoes but I see you are looking for something under $50. That's tough! Maybe some earrings or something from Bath & Body? Why don't you ask her?
I always ask my daughter for ideas and she's not shy! She already has a list together for her 8th birthday. Here it is: iPod Nano, Heely shoes, portable DVD player or anything from American Girl.
My husband and I are planning to get her a 2GB iPod Nano. We are also going to take her to a play, go to the Mall of America and stay at a hotel with a waterpark for 2 nights.

Hasn't your kid told you what she wants for her birthday? Also, she better not by popular by the time she gets to junior high, it is a highway to bitchiness. I'm fourteen and the girls who were normal, friendly chicks before became "popular" and turned into bitches.
As for what to get her, is there any music she likes? Particular bands/genres? Try a So Fresh CD, they're compilation and have a huge mix of tunes on them. Earrings are also a good idea...? If she doesn't have her ears pierced, would you say yes if she wanted them done? Shoes, a bag (dressy bag, I mean)... there are plenty of ideas for you to choose from. If she hasn't told you what she wants, no wonder you don't know! Every year for my birthday, I say to my mum, "Mum, will you buy me a ???? for my birthday?" so she knows... get your daughter to shed some light on things next year!!

Make a shopping trip just u 2 so u can spend time with her but she has and u have fun get ur nails hair done get a few dresses and outfits. go to like downtown. or go see a broad way show with her if she is into that stuff wicked is a great play

holy crap shes 10 and already likes abercrombie? she dont need to be wearin that crap its a. to expensive and b. shes just a kid keep her a kid she wont be one for long so let her wear the stuff like from kids gap and stuff like that..... oh and you could get her something like a scooter or a new bike or somethina kid would want... or even a cd or dvd

get her some nice lip gloss from Sephora; she will think it's sooooo coool. also get her maybe some little wedges or sandals, like from journey's kidz.
