I don't think so. They needed to pick up another bat, and they were rumored to be going after Soriano. Well, they chose not to, and that's going to hurt them because outside of Vlad Guerro they don't have too many offensive weapons.

Yeah, they have a good rotation, they're defense is also pretty good, but they need another bat in their line up. Soriano will not be in a Nationals uniform next year, and the Angel could've used him in the outfield, as a designated hitter or at second base.

That division is a very tight division and with the Rangers aquiring Carlos Lee, and the A's hanging around...the Angels really needed to make a move, and because they didn't I don't think that they will have enough to make a legitimate push into the playoffs.

Of course they will. The Angels and the A's are going to be neck and neck all the way to the final three game series to close off the season and the A's will choke again. I am not worried about the Rangers anymore, they gave up to much to the Brewers to get Carlos Lee. Mench is a solid hitter and Cordero was their closer. Mench has already homered for the Brew Crew and Cordero already has a save.

no. down the stretch they cant make it, WORST defense in the majors if im not mistaken. they're starting pitching is alright, but it means nothing when their is no fielding. the ultimate winners will be the A's. they are the most well rounded team in the AL West. 2 great starters in zito and harden, great closer in street, two great power hitters in chavez and swisher, and a pretty good defensive team. the A's arent great, but down the stretch they will be able to keep it together unlike the rangers or the angels

Probably so.

But the Rangers did not give up that much for Lee. Coco had been "demoted" from closer and Mench hadn't done that much for the Rangers. They just happened to get lucky after we traded them.
