You will have to sign an application for a mortgage and subsequest documents attesting to the accuracy of other information you will be required to give. An application for homeowner's insurance and credit life insurance will also have to be signed. Keep your pen handy, you will be asked for a lot of signatures.

Good luck with your home purchase.

Go to a Title Company, Make the seller provide Title Insurance - get a warranty deed, no quit claim- the title company will prepare all the papers, Demand a home inspection, they are in the phone book, ask for a list of any known defects- ask if the home ever had a fire, or flood. Contact an Insurance agent, and be ready to slap Homeowners Ins on the Place immediately.

well, i found the house through a realtor and she handled most of the paperwork. I used the loan company that was affiliated with her company as well. I think after our offer was accepted we waited for them to move out on the day that was written in the contract and then we went and got the keys from the lawyer that we delt with. We did the final walk through the day before they left.

go get a loan unless you are paying cash, and set the closing. Get title insurance to be sure you are buying what you think you are buying. Good idea to retain an attorney to be sure all goes well.
