i think that your friend and her girlfriend just like each other alot but not in a sexual way. Personally, i'm gay and i love the fact that i can go down on other chicks and vis versa, so i can't image myself being gay without having sex. that's what gay is; it means you preferr to have sex and love women over men. i've had many associates that may call themseleves lesbians but haven't did anything or don't want to do anything with another chick. however i do know people that are homosexuals but don't have sex for religious reason but they still identify themseleves as gay. so i guess for some people being gay is what you feel and that may not include sex. so if your friend thinks she gay, she's gay.

If they don't like going to the basement, that could just mean that they consider it icky or one has bad hygiene (sorry!) or something. It doesn't mean that they aren't attracted to each other or to women in general, especially if they enjoy other things with each other. Besides, a lot of straight and bi women don't exactly enjoy playing the clarinet for their boyfriends, either.

it's not just about the sex act. they're in an intimate relationship. people will do whatever they want for sexual pleasure. it doesn't mean anything. maybe it's got something to do with hawaii

maybe they're asexual, meaning they jus don't like sex. they can still be attracted to women, just not want to have sex with them. So yes, your friends are still lesbians.
