Your settings may be too touchy, go to your control panel (Windows) or System Preferences (Mac) and adjust

Trying going into the Control Panel and the Mouse icon. See if there is a page under that which will let you adjust the sensitivity of the touchpad. Turn it down and see if that resolves the issue. Sometimes if it is too sensitive just laying your hand near the touchpad can activate the mouse.

Some times it will randomly do this. Make sure no moisture is near it as thats what it detects. Make sure you don't have sticky fingers, then stick a tincy bit of water on a kitchen towel then gentally whipe. Then restart the machine.

Note: I said a tincy bit of water, no more than 5 drops!

it ought to correctly be damaged or only a touch defunct. i recognize after I play video games consisting of X-container 360, Gamecube, even lower back to N64, in case you carry the route pad down or in a route at the same time as equipment is became on, it will save transferring in that route. perchance attempt restarting?
