i have lost one and half stone recently and it is still coming off [slowly but its coming],
my advice, eat sensibly, i have two rounds toast am, sandwich for lunch [two rounds, salad with sliced chicken or banana is good]
you need to take regular exercise, walking or swimming if you can't do the gym. at tea time fill up on veg and salad. at night when you are bored and usually eat for the sake of something to do, get flavoured rice cakes or if you have a popcorn maker you can eat as much plain popcorn as you like as it contains hardly any calories and no fat. it is what is on the popcorn that makes it fattening not the popcron itself. if you don't like popcorn i have dried cereal [cornflakes or rice krispies].
another thing i have found that works try not to eat after 8pm this is can be hard but do try.
i am doing exactly as i have said above and it is working for me.
good luck with your diet.
ps. if you try the atkins diet be aware, i know people that have done it and they ended up constipated and with very bad breath

It's been proven that the Atkin's diet is unhealthy for women.
Women need carbohydrates to properly function much more than men do. Cut those out, and you'll be tired, sluggish, and you won't be able to think well. Trust me, every woman I know (Over 20 women) experienced this, and I did personal research on it myself.
How tall are you? 130 could possibly not be that bad.
I'm exactly 5'0" and I weigh 95-105 pounds.
Try eating six small, healthy meals (Small breast of chicken + Salad one day, then a breast the next, then a small-medium salad the next, then perhaps a small steak, then some cereal/soup, etc etc) throughout the day and get at least 30 minutes of a good workout every single day.

Whatever you do don't think you'll lose weight by stopping eating. You'll just slow your metabolism down. I would recommend having a medium breakfast, a large lunch, and something small for your evening meal. So you kind of do lunch size at breakfast, dinner time at lunch and breakfast sized at dinner. (You're body has more chance to burn off the food this way). Also opt for healthy options in all of the above. I would recommend sticking with carbs as well - if you are at school you'll need the energy! I've followed the above routine since I left school 9 years ago and have now actually fell to below my recommended BMI - considering before i started this routine i was hovering around the overweight part of it. People now take the mick out of me being too skinny and I still get three decent meals! (And a couple of bars of chocolate thrown in each week for good measure).

Why girls only? Very simply you have to digest less calories than your body burns in a day. Your body burns 2000 calories a day, so you need to eat less than this. One pound in weight equates to 3,500 calories, so if you can eat 1500 calories a day, every seven days you should lose 7 x 500 = 3500 calories = 1 pound. Eat fruit, veg, drink water and stay off fatty foods and bread. Cut out crisps and sweets and cut down on alcohol.
And the answerer above is right: 130 isn't that heavy. Don't obsess if you don't really need to lose weight. Check your height / weight charts and don't go BELOW recommended weights either, that's just as bad.

how tall are you? I don't think that 130 is that heavy. I think that's a normal weight.
Whatever you do, don't rush it off. If you lose it quickly, chances are that you will gain it back just as fast. Eat healthier, work out at least 3 times a week, drink lots of water, stop eating after 8pm. Follow all those rules and you will lose it the healthy way.

You don't say how old you are - but if you are talking high school, you need a well balanced diet, low in "white carbs" with lots of vegetables - particularly green leafy ones. You also need to exercise regularly - primarily aerobic until you have taken off a lot of the weight, then weight training. Good luck

Losing weight is not a wait until the last minute endeavor. I think waiting until a few a days before school starts is too late to accomplish much weight loss, other than water weight.

Two of the best diets from personal opinion, and friends words. Atkins, and The South Beach Diet. Jog everyday even 15 short minutes can do good. while sitting infront of the television do some sit ups, do them slowly and pull up with your chin not your neck, feel it in your lower stomache. eat healthy cut out carbs, sugar, and candies. in the end be confident with yourself, and dont let others influence how you want to look! good luck. email me for extra help!

Sigh. So, you let your own body get to the state it is in and then you holler help! It is easier to gain weight than it is too take it off. A daily fitness regime along with HEALTHY eating habits, which means, NO FAST FOODS!! Leave the sugar out and good luck.
