I'm considering trading in my Jeep Liberty 03 for something with better fuel economy. I've been looking at diesel vehicles, and my options seem limited.

The U.S. government is putting new emission standards into effect in 2008. Diesels get 25-30% better fuel economy, but check the difference in the price at the pump, it may not be worth it. Remember, diesel gels at cold temperatures, so if you live somewhere the get below freezing, you will have to plug in to an electrical outlet.

If you want a diesel, get them while you can, many will be discontinued. In early 2008 the Grand Cherokee will be available with a diesel.

They now make the liberty with a diesel engine. It's a $1700 option on the 4X4 models.
