Remember when Bush said the war would be over in about six months? Remember he stood on an Aircraft carrier and said "Mission Accomplished?" Remember when Bush said the Insurgents were just "Dead Enders" and not to worry about them? I do know most Republicans are now crying their eyes out.

I am no more ashamed of being a Republican than Democrats were ashamed to be affiliated with that party in 1980.

Bush said the war would be over in six months? Really interesting you couldn't provide a link to that. You are disputing the fact the insurgents are terrorists and dead enders? Based on what secret intelligence you alone have been briefed on?

I don't know any Republicans who are crying, period. Some are mad at the President and some are disappointed, but I don't know any who are crying.

Well, at the end of the day, if you're going to run around handing out blame, be sure to keep back a couple slices for the democrats, and also a bite for each and every car driver in the United States.

Whatever else might be said about the whole thing, if there was no oil in the middle east, no one would really care about it, in my view. Remember Standard Oil? I think they were the first to discover oil over there. So, for the last 80 years, or so, they've gotten all this money for oil. New money. BIG new money.

As far as the USA having problems, I don't blame Bush. I'm not sure who to blame, and how much of our problems are percieved and how many are real. The rhetoric-vendors have been marketing their various brands of intellectual poison since long before I was born, and likely they'll go on after I expire.

I think america's a good country, and we'll only benefit by people thinking harder and being more pro-active about problems at home. Green-tech is coming along nicely, it's amazing what people have done with a little money, I think in 20 years we'll be looking at an energy-independent country, and petroleum will be a non-issue, at least in america. In 50 years, we'll likely see a lot of windmills, a lot of solar panels, and a lot of homes re-wired for 12v. Same utility of energy, just on much lower current, and more local power, less reliance on national grids. I know of some people that exclusively live basically in a motor home, their movable nest. They can go just about anywhere and 'tie up' for cheap. Gas is killing them, though...but with the new diesel, stuff like fuel cells etc., life will become more economical even for them. I'm inclined toward a positive view of the world, I think we've got a lot going for us, and even if you don't support the war, don't throw the baby out with the bathwater...rather, you look at the root cause of all of this, and how we got here, and how to fix it. Donate some time and resources to your local alternative energy group or something. Lots to learn, there...if you wanna act locally, and do something cheap, quick and easy, WALK. Put one foot in front of the other, and go about your business. Without the car. Can you do that? Your answer would be very telling in the context of consumer demand vs. your rhetoric...

Not at all. That would be like saying all Dems should be ashamed because Ted Kennedy is in the party. Iraq isn't a failure unless we pull out before it's government is capable of running the country. Sort of what all the top level Dems want us to do by December. That way, when the country falls apart, they can blame Republicans and try to win votes.

The USA was "messed up" the moment Clinton took office.... It will take time to undo his mess.

Mission Accomplished can never be construed as true as long as liberals fight for the left.

Neither the Democrats or the Republicans are conservative as a party. Both toe to the left side of the road in their operations.

um no. i think you are generalizing and dumping everything into one category. At least he has some conviction and a goal. I doubt very much that the US is all messed up. I don't see people fleeing the country b/c they'd rather live somewhere else...And if the sitch in iraq is not yet over then how can you say that we failed...I'll bet the service men and women over there covering your a$$ would love to hear your views.

No I'm not, any suggestions I have made as to a course of action would be seen as progressive even by todays standards. Any indisgressions made by George W Bush or any member of his cabinet, and Im not saying there were any, are not my responsibility and I am not liable for them.

Instead of sending our troops over to fight, the Republicans who voted for Bush should go.
And I agree with what Paul is going to say.
