You can have a housewarming party anytime you wish. Keep in mind that it is not considered proper to expect gifts if you throw your own party. Although it is common for gifts to be given when a friend throws the party for you, the longer you wait, the more it will seem to your guests like you are just fishing for gifts.

People normally have a housewarming party when they've got most of their furniture and fixtures in the house...Besides everyone loves to party, so you can come up with an excuse like "Housewarming" to celebrate and people won't really care - they'll still come

whenever...just call it the "better late than never (for me) housewarming party! And tell all the guests what you still need for the house!

Within 30 days is the most traditional time frame. Although people understand that it takes longer to get settled in sometimes and won't think you're just trying to mooch a house warming gift from them. Anything over 3 months, you probably shouldn't expect the gifts to be too spectacular.

I think anytime is fine....how about a holiday event? You can decorate for the holidays and have an awesome party! Make an affair out of it. Prayers and congratulations! =)
