I have a 1989 How do you put in a water pump, Or is cheaper to bring it in somewhere & have it done.

This is not a particularly complex repair, but it is difficult and specialty tools are required.
If this car has more than 60,000 or 120,000 or 180,000 miles, it is recommended by Honda to also replace the timing belt(s) at the same time.
Though it will cost a bit more for the parts, it will save you a great deal of labor (Pronounced MONEY) later, as well as engine damage if the belt fails (not to mention the tow bill, and being stranded).
If you take it to a REPUTABLE shop, pump and timing belt repair / replacement should be less than $800.00, a little more if there are other parts or repairs necessary.

It's not going to be cheaper, but if you don't have a clue about what you're doing or the proper tools, it'll save you a migrane.

If you have never done it before, take it to a shop. You also have to remove the fan belt and put it back on properly.
