Depending on how much clearance you have since you didn't specify what kind of vehicle it is, you could unbolt the transmission and just pull the motor away with the clutch/torque convertor ( again no information) if you have a front wheel drive car then take the advice of others and use a lock tight disolver and a Breakover bar using a prybar or thick screwdriver to keep the flywheel from moving while you loosen the bolts.

Well, it helps to know what kind of car you have and what tranny setup is on it. Basically you can remove the engine with the flywheel on. That part shouldn't matter. Or do you mean the torque converter bolts. Then you have to have someone hold the crank with a breaker bar and socket in the damper bolt in the front of the engine, and thus you break the bolts loose on the flywheel. Or better yet, an impact wrench.

the flywheel bolts usually have some type of locktight on them which makes it hard to remove. try pb blaster and a huge breaker bar. if that dont work you can try heating the bolts with a propane torch. otherwise remove it with the transmission and motor together.

If you really can't get the flywheel loose and you can't get the torque converter or clutch assembly to come off with the engine. Your only choice is to pull the engine and tranny together. Once you have them both out it is much easier to work on. About the only issue is clearance with a radiator in place and ground clearance or engine hoist height.

PB Blaster. Let it soak. Try again. Never encountered a rusted bolt that PB blaster couldn't help remove.

You will have to somehow get those bolts out or your only alternative will be to pull the transmission and engine out together.
