I just got my first period today and my mom isn't home so i have like no one but my grandmother here and i was wondering how long did your first period last and is there a certain time that i should be changing my pads? It's a light flow and all i have right now are like the pantiliner pads and it feels really weird and i don't want to start using tampons this early. Also, how long does it usually take for your period to regulate? So any tips? Thanks

My 1st one lasted almost two weeks, you should chamge every 2-4 hours. It usually takes 2-4 months for it to become regular. If you start having cramps, take a tylenol, lie die, and apply pressure and heat to your stomach. Congrats on starting the long road to womanhood!

My first period lasted for about 4 days but after that, it took about another 3 months before I was on my period again. They say it takes about 2 years for your period to come more regularly

Change your pad every 4 hours or so. That's what I did.

My first one was pretty light, but still heavy enough to stain my jeans when I didn't use protection. It only lasted a couple of days and was more of a brown/red smear than a 'bloody' period.

If you can slip out and buy a packet of 'super' towels they should get through until next time, when you'll need daytime & night time towels. If you can't get out put 3 or 4 liners in at once and change them often. (Sounds gross but I have been known to stick a dry face cloth in my pants when I didn't have ant sanitary towels.)

Changes towels when you feel uncomfortable or when you go for a wee and the towel looks fully loaded. I get through 1 night time towel a night and about 4 towels during the day, but we're all different.

Don't worry about tampons. It was about 6 years before I started using them and I still rarely bother - as I tend to forget they're in place! If at some point you want to try them, go ahead but don't feel in anyway under pressure to hurry up and use them.

I wish you well x

I got my period when i was 12, and my period lasted an whole week.i still use pads im scared to use tampons. You should keep changing your pads like every 2-3hours and then it depends on how your flowing. Make sure you have enough pads because your going to run out. And your going to be searching like hell to get some more. And for cheaper pads you should go to The Family Dollar Store because they have cheap name brand pads for like 2-6 dollars. For your first time your going to feel weird because it's your first time. And if your stomach hurts just take 2 advils and you will feel better. Use some heating pads and put it on your lower part of your stomach. Drink tea, coffee, and real warm stuff, because if you drink ice cold stuff your going to feel real bad. Alright get better sweetie it's gon be alright. email me if you have anymore questions. mz.cutiepie07@yahoo.com

check your moms bath room she might have some pads in her mommy only area. chage them every 2 hour and avoid white pants while on you period. If you cant find anything use the panty liners. for now. give your mom a call so she could pick up some pads on her way home. hope this helps.

yes my period lasted about over a week. just relax use pads for now. you just want to keep checking yourself to make sure you don't have any accidents. if your in pain get some advil and lie down sometimes a heating pad helps. congrats you have entered the land of being a woman

Just wear what you have Since it's only pantyliner you might what to change them as often as possible.Just tell your mom when she gets home so that she can take you to get some more thick pads because after this first day it's probably going to get a little heavier but not much because it's only your first one. But welcome to womanhood. Take care and eat plenty of chocolate.
