While there are people offering 120 to 220 volt converters, I just don't believe that will work with a dryer. You will need a 20 AMP/220 VOLT circuit from your dryer to the electrical service panel. If there is no 220 volt plug recepticle near your dryer, you will have to have one installed by an electrician. Dryers draw a fairly heavy electrical load and I think it would be dangerous (overheating of your wiring) to attempt a short cut. The plug that is installed is designed to fit a circuit that can handle the dryer. Changing that would be be against the law and very dangerous. Get the circuit installed. BUT YOU CAN STILL GO AHEAD AND GET A PIG TAIL FOR IT< AND ASK YOUR HARDWARE STORE DUDE<

For safety, we had an electrician take care of the problem for a hot tub. We had the outlet for the dryer but not a hot tub.

It cost more but it was safer than doing it ourselves.

Be careful. There are thousands of dryer started fires every year.

If you don't have a 220v outlet to plug it into, you'll need to have an electrician install one.
