I think they bumped into each other on the street. She was leaving a one night stand (walking home in the morning), they bumped into each other on the sidewalk. She dropped her handbag and everything spilled. As he was helping her pick everything up, he picked up several condoms she dropped and handed them to her. Then they ran into each other at a party later that night/week where Samantha put the moves on him and he declined.
