and if they are, it doesn't matter how much cocoa butter you use, will you still get them? My mom has them, so will I get them when I have a baby?

Stretch marks are NOT hereditary, and ARE avoidable... In my opinion. For what it's worth, my mom had major stretch marks after pregnancy, but I had zero. I used the cocoa butter lotion every day after about month three of pregnancy... Maybe it worked, or maybe I was lucky.

My mother has 6 kids I have 5 sisters and she has barley any stretch marks. I on the other hand had a baby when i was 16 and used so much cocoa butter and lotion but my stomach stretched so much it itched really bad I would itch it in my sleep and I have bad stretch marks. So I think it has to do with age and it just kinda happens I don't think there is any way to prevent it maybe help it not be so bad. When you have a baby your body changes forever and along with that comes stretchmarks.

When I got pregnant the first time I had stretch marks. My mother didn't all the cocoa butter I could keep stocked didn't help. With my second and third child I didn't notice any extra stretch marks. Mine have never gone away either. They are not as noticeable as they were though.

There is some hereditary component to it. I had 3 babies, all of whom were over 10 pounds and never got a single stretch mark. Neither of my daughters have had stretch marks.

Stretch marks are unavoidable. The cocoa butter will only help with the appearance of stretchmarks. I'm not sure if it is hereditary.

My mom, sister got them when preg. but i have had 2 babies and did not get them. I only weighed 110lbs when i got preg with my first and gained 50lbs. So i got really big, but with know stretch marks. I think it just depends on how much elasticity you have in your skin. Cocoa butter did not work for anyone i every knew. Good luck!!!

You must be young...no stretch marks are not hereditary. Most women get them when they have kids. There is a chance you will get them too when you have kids...just a part of life that you have to learn to accept.

No they are not. But, you can also get stretch marks from gain weight to fast or haveing a growth spert. They are caused by the stretching of the skin. Sometimes they will fade away, but they are still visible to you.
