No, it never occurred to me to do so. Since all our cotton balls are used for kids' crafts, we do end up throwing away the ones that get gluey or pulled apart too much.

No...Why would I do that? I never have opened a bag of cotton balls with just one cotton ball on the top.....

Whatever for? If the package has been sealed, the top one is just as clean/dirty as all the other ones.

No, I assume they're sterile. If they aren't, then all are contaminated so it would be stupid to only throw one away.
