It seems that many people have never been naked with other people except for sex...for them, nudity always has a sexual connotation and therefore is something to be hidden or avoided. Others see nudity as always sensual, even when not sexual, and are therefore comfortable with it. Any thoughts?

I love being nude whenever possible. I go to nude beach's, resorts and I rarely wear clothes at home. I have friends that my nudity doesn't bother them so if given the option I'll be clothes free if the opportunity is right. In fact there have been numerous times when I've been the only one present that was naked. I do respect others that are tied to the textile lifestyle and don't push my lifestyle on them. I think most people were raised that nudity and sex go together which is true only if you want it to be true. I personally enjoy the freedom of not being confined to clothes.

Well, this isn't my usual deep, well thought out answer- but in my opinion we all have a natural sense of modesty for a reason. If I were around a bunch of naked people all the time, then it might not feel like such a special thing for just between lovers. Did you see that episode of Seinfeld where Jerry had that girlfriend who just hung around the apt nude all the time? He liked it at first, but then he decided there was good naked, and then bad naked, like when she had a coughing attack, or when she strained to open the pickle jar. I think nudity should be reserved for intimate times.

I completely agree. I think nudity is natural and people are ashamed and embarassed by nudity. I personally can't be nude around others because I don't feel comfortable with making others uncomfortable. But, if everyone was open to nudity and not so self-conscious, I don't think it's a big deal at all. In Europe's nude beaches, people are completely relaxed. People there don't ogle each other because they are used to it.

LOL I have no problem with it, I find it very liberating. In fact, this past weekend, I went up to a cabin with some friends and we went swimming in a nearby lake. I went skinny dipping, but everyone else freaked out and teased me. I'm more of an exhibitionist anyway. There is nothing wrong with nudity. It's a beautiful thing!
