ever seen a staph infection? you can get many different blod diseases and infections from cutting. it isnt a healthy way with dealing with things and is merely one lil cut away from slicing a vein. if you dont want to stop dont but i hope you find a better way to deal

It's not a healthy coping skill, flat out. The fact that you, or I, or anyone else cuts or cut is a demonstration that they didn't have other means to cope with their problems. I'm not saying that's anyone's fault that they didn't have those skills, but that's what the problem is. It's also an addictive behavior that gets worse and worse; you're leaving yourself (or, if you haven't yet, you WILL leave yourself) with scars that will be with you for a lifetime.

It's also a definite sign of OTHER problems, which definitely need to be dealt with. There's plenty of people who get it who "want ppl to stop" because they're genuinely concerned; it's not a sign of good health. It may be the healthiest option available to a person at a very specific point in time (this starts getting into the specifics of why different people cut), but it's not a good long term plan.

It's a bad, short-term fix to 'get rid of your other pain' and I bet the feeling doesn't last long. Sooner or later the pain comes back and you'll cut yourself again.

Cutting yourself ANYWHERE can be dangerous in the long run. Cuts can get infected and you can get blood poisoning. You can risk all kinds of complications.

Do you want to attract a partner one day? Do you think you will do so if you cut yourself? Do you think you will look attractive, both physically and emotionally, if you cut yourself?

Deal with the real source of your pain- the pain that you ignore in favour of slicing yourself open. Only then will you TRULY feel better.

It reminds me of the pain I feel inside. I too once just wanted that to stop, stop it from reminding me of what I felt.

But now I choose to see with love. I feel compassion for their pain, but the love in me also knows in truth who we really are.

We are life. Life is 'what is.' Life is eternal, infinite. All things.

So many ways to avoid the pain; drinking, eating, internet, cutting, tv, etc, etc.

Til finally I stop. Stop. And be. Be. With what is. I allow myself to move towards the pain, instead of run from it. I allow myself to be consumed by it. And in the ashes, a new me arises. Reborn.

No longer conformed to this world. My eyes now open and seeing what is there, rather than what I was taught was there.

Love abundantly. And receive abundant life.

It is so.

Most people who DID/DO cut dont realize it but it's a mental complex sort of thing that needs to be stopped before it gets worse.
My best friend recently got over cutting herself because somebody told a school counselor and she was taken out of school to a mental hospital.

I don't know if you want to cut yourself go for it. Just don't come crying to me about it.
Cutters usually have hideous scars for the rest of their life, kind of a tribute to their own insanity and attention seeking behavior.
If you advertise your stupidity it makes it easier for other to deal with you.
We know what to expect or not expect from you.

because people dont like to see other people hurting themselves. and emotional problems can be delt with in other ways the self mutilation. i know that your problems may seem like they need to be delt with in that way, but trust me there really are better things to do than that. most of the time talking about the problems helps get rid of them. the little things mean the most in this type situtation. contact me if you really feel like talking about it.

because it doesn't solve the problem that makes you feel bad to begin with. it is only a distraction to help you forget the pain of abuse and betrayal (whether real or imagined)

wouldn't it be better to treat the original wound which causes you pain than to inflict another one?

Because it is a disease and is not normal and there is help out there for you. You can better putt you energy in good than into destruction and oddly enough they probably care about you so for that don't you owe them at least to look in to it and seek help? <3 :-)
