I am planning to visit Brazil and hopefully see the Amazon. I am looking at travelling to Peru from there to go on the Inca trail. How long will it take to go via the Amazon..Am I better to fly into La Paz in Bolivia and make my way across the border there?

Best bet would be to fly to La Paz. There is still a lot of jungle to cross when you get to Peru. The whole Northeast corner of Peru is jungle. I assume that it would probably take at least 2 weeks to go by way of the Amazon, but don't quote me on that . I am just trying to think of the travel videos I saw. I am not sure where you get off the Amazon into another tributary in Peru and then to what town. The road system in that area of Peru is not very good. My wife's friend lives in that area and she has to fly in to get home. So, go to Bolivia after you have seen the Amazon, then pick up the Inca Trail there. Have a great time. I envy you.
