yeah, maybe it was Amazon bookshop... :) anyway, would it be safer in a 'already super-developped' nation like Japan?

You must be joking, Japan must be the world's most un-enviromental country in the world. Preserve the rainforest? After they've eaten everything in it they would chop the damn thing to make millions of chop sticks or harpoons for whaling.

No, they are still killing whales for make up and food, the kill tigers, rhinos and elephants for aphrodisiacs. The trees there have some quality worth exploiting for their birdcages.

nope they would cut it down because that how they get their wood they have no large forests of their own they have bought and cut down million trees all over the world
