Is Tony Blair using his position as PM to look for US based work when he steps down? He seems to be spending alot of time networking across in America, mind you not alot happening in the UK...Another ME crisis in which we will be trageted by terror groups, crime & violence on the rise, the NHS in a mess, immigration out of control...oh yes I nearly forgot Iraq & Afghanistan...when he gets home he is away for two weeks on another freebie holiday whilst Prezza sorts us out...please can this government go quickly. ( By the way I am not promoting either a Tory, Lib Dem or any other party...I just think it is time for some new, strong and independent leadership

You bet he is. He has never wanted a Job in the UK as we see from the mess he has made of UKplc. If it was a commercial company the whole lot would be sacked looking for work.

It sure looks that way - addressing News International executives.
But haven't all our ex-PMs and party leaders done something similar. Look at Thatcher on the US lecture circuit. Then there is the inevitable book. All very lucrative.

One of the things we definitely need from any new government is a strong and genuinely independent foreign policy and more accountability to the electorate.

TBlair seems to know he's about to step down, something he
should have done long ago. I agree, new leadership is needed- if Tony stays, there will be no NHS after few years and everything else will collapse as well. I hope T.B will perform well in interview, whether it is in the USA or somewhere else (Antarctica?)

Yes I agree, with what you have to say. I think it's about time we in the UK let our feelings be heard and not be so mam by, pamby. All those in favour link hands and chant Go now please; Go now before it's too late and before you lead us all to the brink of disaster.

I genuinely think the man is heading for a breakdown; that or he is a megalomaniac.

He certainly won't go down in UK history as a great statesman that's for sure, although wgb might erect a statue of him outside the American Whitehouse. The dedication would read; 'To the next US president in waiting'. Not from the people or to the people but from your bossom pal WGB'

Exactly the same question they were asking in the Mail on Sunday this week gone. Check it out on page 5. Or you one of the writers of the article i question?
Found a link to the article but the headline is slightly different than it was in the paper.
As for the answer to your question, don't know, stopped caring. I'm hoping to emigrate in the next 5 years or so.

I agree. Lets be honest here, Tony Blair is hated by the majority of the UK. When he retires he will still be hated, but by sucking up to the US it means when he retires he can retire to America where he is considered a hero.

Yes, Blair preaches that 'our' future 'must' be in Europe. But he'll be living with his family in the US within a year of retiring from the Premiership.

No he isn't. I don't like or trust the guy, but there is no need for him to curry favour. He is assured of being a millionaire just from consultancy, speaking engagements and book advances.
